Configuring Proxies and Firewalls

You may need to configure proxies and firewalls to activate Contract Tools using an activation key and allow Contract Tools to download updates.

If you’re using an activation key instead of a license server to administer Contract Tools (see Activating Contract Tools to learn more), you should configure proxies and firewalls to allow communication from Word and access to wyday.com. (Contract Tools uses LimeLM by wyDay, LLC for license management. LimeLM requires access to wyDay’s website, wyday.com.)

If your users will be permitted to install Contract Tools updates individually (see Updating Contract Tools to learn how to disable updating), you should configure proxies and firewalls to allow communication from PaperSoftwareContractToolsUpdater.exe and access to https://papersoftware.s3.amazonaws.com (Amazon S3). PaperSoftwareContractToolsUpdater.exe is located in Contract Tools’ installation folder; see Installation Folder to learn more. (Contract Tools uses Advanced Updater by Caphyon Ltd. to download and install updates. Contract Tools’ Advanced Updater executable is named PaperSoftwareContractToolsUpdater.exe and it downloads updates from Amazon S3.)
